Import / Export GridGuard LDAP Data - using CLI

Provides instructions on how to import and export LDAP data from GridGuard-VA's OpenLDAP server.
Note: Parameters surrounded by curly braces ( '{' '}' )  are considered variables and the values should be appropriate for your environment.

Exports

Online Export

Note: An online export assumes that the GridGuard-VA's OpenLDAP slapd service is up and running.

ldapsearch -LLL -H 'ldap://localhost:6268/' -x -w {rootDN password} -b 'dc=gridguard,dc=syferlock,dc=com' -D 'cn=root,dc=gridguard,dc=syferlock,dc=com' '*' '+' 1> ~/{output-file}.ldif

Offline Export

An offline export assumes that the GridGuard-VA's OpenLDAP slapd sevice is stopped.

#> service slapd stop
#> slapcat -b 'dc=gridguard,dc=syferlock,dc=com' 1> ~/{output-file}.ldif
#> service slapd start

Imports

Offline Import

#> service slapd stop
#> rm -f /var/lib/ldap/*

The variable "{ServerId}" is dependent on whether clustering is enabled or not.
If clustering is not enabled, the default {ServerId} is 0.
If clustering is enabled, set {ServerId} to the Server Id defined under the 'Cluster Management' menu in the ACC

#> slapadd -w -S {ServerID} -b 'dc=gridguard,dc=syferlock,dc=com' -l {path to OutputFile}
#> chown ldap:ldap /var/lib/ldap/*
#> service slapd start

Online Import

Online importing is not recommended or supported.  This can cause many data issues, especially if clustering is enabled.
